It’s funny.
When I think about me and you and
the things that we’ve been
through
I can’t help smiling
Not many people know
And those who know
can’t believe the depth there
is to our relationship
The choices we’ve made and
the paths we’ve taken together
We’ve come a long way from
that day on the bus, dear.
We’ve spent countless hours
talking to each other
A way that I find myself
talking to you and only you
Things like that I hold
preciously close to my heart
Cause believe it or not
I do care
I care very deeply
As I replay our first kiss in
my head
I still feel butterflies dancing
in my stomach and fluttering
around my heart
A part of me wants to believe
that our one night together
was a night of lovemaking…
but the rational and realistic
side of me knows better.
Still, I treasure that solitary
encounter because no one can
take it away from me
And even if I come to regret
it in the future, it will always
be a part of my history.
It’s always comforting to
live in the pleasure and sanctity
of endearing and sentimental -
no matter how trivial – moments
in the past.
But the fact remains that I am
here… now… in the present.
And presently, you choose
