So like I said last time, we moved to North Carolina. So far it’s been pretty good. Like I really have no complaints…. a few gripes but nothing is perfect sooo….

The things I like about Durham:

1. It is so beautiful… the air is clean and fresh and I’m seeing trees that weren’t planted 10 feet apart by the city
2. It’s QUIET… the loudest thing at night is crickets outside the window… and that’s something I remember from my childhood in Barbados so I LOVE IT!
3. The people are so much nicer! New Yorkers can be such snotty shits… it’s nice to run into people who smile and say hello, for a change
4. Everything AND I MEAN EVERYTHING is cheaper
5. We’re on charge. ’nuff said.

Things I don’t LOVE but don’t hate about Durham:

1. Actually this list is just one thing: you gotta drive EVERYWHERE. Only reason this made the list is because I still don’t have my license. But my brother has been letting me drive around to get comfortable because I already had my NYC permit. I’ll be getting my NC License shortly… I would have already had the permit if I didn’t forget my passport in BK like a dumbass LOL…

Things about Durham that don’t belong on the first 2 lists:

1. I live right by RTP. Contrary to what alot of people tried to sell me about Durham before I moved? There are A TON of jobs available down here, I shit you not. The thing is: lots of them require at least an Undergrad degree… so much for the whole “country bumpkin” notion huh… Anyway, in RTP there are dozens of bio-pharmaceutical, engineering, robotics and other scientific niche – type of companies. So what I’m seeing is that before I can make the big BIG money,  I will have to finish my degree. That sucks. But only because getting in school down here will run about $70,000. And I don’t have that kinda money! If I did, I woulda bought my damn house already, started my company already, and been ballin outta control…. ALREADY!!!

Anyway… me and Kyle have been getting along great. We’ve both been on the job hunt and getting responses so thus far it looks like this was a good call. Obviously we miss home but I think this was a good opportunity for us both to grow together, and we intend to make the absolute best of it.

Way back, maybe 4 or even 5 years ago when I was still in college, there was a guy that I liked. We never became a couple, but we did hook up a few times. He moved away and that was that.

Because I can never find a shade that I feel goes with my lips and skin tone. Plus I’m not the makeup wearing kinda chick anyway. Some blistex to keep these suckers soft and I’m good to go. Now my mom used to wear alot of makeup back in the day. Not scary makeup, but she would dress up sometimes and she would look hawt. My mom has a lighter complexion than I do, so I guess that worked out great for her.

Now me and my nosy self went thru her old makeup kits and I found a Cinnamon shade that I kinda liked. Funny cuz I hate anything Cinnamon flavored other than Cinnabuns LOL… But I put it on and… well… it looks kinda hot! Check the pics… (more…)

So the last post was ramblings. I’m pretty sure it won’t be the last of it’s kind, but hey that’s why this is MY blog yadimean…

Anyweezy… I’ve been networking pretty well and I’ve made some awesome connections. So on my resume from Sept 08 til Present I can officially put Web Developer. I’ve got a great thing going and hopefully this is a lasting relationship. Can’t say much more than that, but this is major.

Love is life, life is love. I love my fiance. Our families are still psyched.

Anyway, it’s back to work. Got some deadlines to meet. Some bread to collect.
